Bodies Enclosed in Paint
PR-EVOLUTION DANCE COMPANY
The performance remembers Modigliani’s life through the figure of his daughter Jeanne Modigliani – the child, who hardly remembers her parents, because both died so early, and whose life completely changed from one moment to another. The girl, who tries to piece together and understand herself through the surfacing emotions evoked by the stories of the painter, who only became famous after his death.
“I imagine the last cry before falling. How her face is torn by the air. How the form turns into wounds. Time wears the mask of subterranean unrecognizability. Everything is so far, and yet, as if it had never passed. Bodies enclosed in paint.”
